Victron VE.Can RJ45 Terminator — 120 Ω, Bag of 2 for VE.Can

Required at both ends of any VE.Can bus. If your Victron system has more than one VE.Can device daisy-chained together — a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX talking to a Lynx Shunt VE.Can, a Lynx Smart BMS, or a CAN-bus-enabled lithium battery via a VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Cable — the two unused VE.Can ports at the ends of the chain need terminators or the bus communication will be intermittent. This bag of two covers a typical install end-to-end.

• What it does. Plugs into the unused VE.Can RJ45 port at each end of the chain to terminate the CAN bus with a 120 Ω load. Without termination, signal reflections cause intermittent dropouts, devices disappearing from the GX list, and hard-to-diagnose comms errors.
• VE.Can only — not needed for VE.Bus. VE.Bus (the protocol that connects MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, Quattro, and similar inverter/chargers) uses a point-to-point chain via RJ45 patch cables and does not require terminators. These are for VE.Can bus topology only — Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX talking to Lynx-family devices or CAN-bus lithium batteries.
• Ships with some Victron products, not all. The CANUSB ships with a pair included. Most other VE.Can devices (Cerbo GX, Lynx Shunt VE.Can, Lynx Smart BMS) do not — they assume you'll buy terminators separately when building the system.
• Not interchangeable with standard RJ45 Ethernet plugs. The terminator looks like an RJ45 plug from the outside but contains a 120 Ω load specific to the CAN bus. A blank Ethernet plug or a network end-cap will not work as a substitute.
• Genuine Victron Energy terminator — full 5-year Victron warranty.
