Victron VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS Cable — Type A & Type B

Connect a CAN-bus enabled lithium battery to a Victron GX device. This is the cable that wires Pylontech, BYD, Hubble, LG Chem, BMZ, AXIstorage, BSLBATT, Solar MD, and Freedom Won eTower batteries into a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX so the battery's BMS reports voltage, current, state-of-charge, cell balance, and allow-to-charge/discharge signals to the rest of your Victron system. Once connected, the BMS data shows up in VictronConnect, VRM Portal, and on the GX Touch display alongside your inverter/charger and MPPT data.

• The Pylontech and Freedom Won gotchas. Some brands split across both types. Pylontech's “C”-suffix models (US2000C, US3000C) and newer UP5000/Force-L use Type A; the original US2000/US3000/UP2500 use Type B. Freedom Won's eTower uses Type B BMS cable, but their LiTE line uses a plain RJ45 UTP cable instead. Always check your specific battery model's spec sheet — the connectors look identical but the GND pin on the battery side differs (pin 6 on Type A vs pin 2 on Type B), so the wrong type will not communicate.
• Some batteries don't need this cable. MG Energy Systems, Bluenova Energy Storage, Cegasa eBick, and Freedom Won LiTE use a standard RJ45 UTP cable instead. Exide and SolarMD Logger V2 need a brand-specific custom cable — see the battery manufacturer's manual.
• Installation. The end labeled “CAN-bus BMS” plugs into the battery. The end labeled “VE.Can” plugs into the GX device — either the VE.Can port or the BMS-Can port works (configure the port in the GX device's settings for your battery brand).
• Two lengths per type — 1.8m for adjacent installs (battery and GX in the same panel) and 5m for cabin-to-engine-room or panel-to-battery-locker runs. Genuine Victron Energy cable, full 5-year Victron warranty.
