How to choose
Two questions sort it out.
How much boat are you pushing?
The TEMO 450 (~1 HP) is the ultra-light pick for kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and light dinghies — it weighs about 11 lb and stows in one piece. The TEMO 1000 (~3 HP) steps up to tenders, rowboats, and small sailboats.
Built-in or removable battery?
The 450 has its battery built in — grab it and go. The 1000 uses a removable 949 Wh cassette, so you can carry a spare and swap it for more time on the water.
How do they mount?
Both are light and simple: the 450 clamps on or drops into a rowlock fitting, and the 1000 uses a lightweight transom mount that rotates 360° for easy steering and reverse.

TEMO FAQ
TEMO 450 or TEMO 1000 — which should I get?
The 450 is the lightest, simplest option for kayaks, SUPs, canoes, and small dinghies, with a built-in battery. The 1000 is more powerful (~3 HP) with a removable battery, for tenders, rowboats, and small sailboats.
Are TEMO motors easy to carry and store?
Very — that's the whole idea. The 450 is about 11 lb and stows in one piece; the 1000 is light and breaks down for transport. Both drop into a padded TEMO transport bag.
How long do they run on a charge?
It depends on throttle and boat, like any electric outboard — easing off the throttle stretches range a lot. The 1000's removable 949 Wh cassette lets you carry a spare for longer days.
Are TEMO outboards saltwater safe?
Yes — they're built for salt and fresh water. Rinse with fresh water after salt use, the same habit you'd keep with any outboard.
