The Victron GlobalLink 520 is the easiest, no-subscription way to keep an eye on a Victron system from anywhere. It links your gear to the free VRM (Victron Remote Management) portal over 4G — and it ships with a pre-installed, pre-paid SIM that includes 5 years of cellular connectivity. No SIM to buy, no data plan to manage, no monthly fees. Power it up, pair your devices, and watch your system online.
What it connects
- 2 VE.Direct ports (always isolated) — wire in two VE.Direct devices such as a SmartSolar MPPT, a SmartShunt, or a BMV battery monitor.
- Up to 10 Bluetooth Smart products — the GlobalLink pulls data wirelessly (BLE) from nearby Victron Smart devices.
- RuuviTag sensors — add wireless temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors; their data shows up directly in VRM.
- 2 digital inputs and 1 relay (NO/NC; DC 2 A @ 30 VDC, AC 0.5 A @ 125 VAC) for basic alarm/switching.
On VRM you can watch battery state of charge, power consumption, PV harvest, generator and grid status, and temperatures, set up alerts, and review historical data and diagnostics — all from your phone or laptop.
GlobalLink vs. a GX device: the GlobalLink 520 is a lightweight monitoring gateway — it is not a GX device and does not run Venus OS, so it doesn't do full system control, ESS, generator auto start/stop, or NMEA 2000. For a larger system, or if you need on-site control and a touchscreen, choose a Cerbo GX (with a GX LTE 4G for cellular). The GlobalLink shines on smaller installs where you just want subscription-free remote monitoring.
Easy setup and flexible antennas
Configure it in minutes over Bluetooth with the VictronConnect app. It has an internal antenna plus an SMA connector for an optional external LTE-M antenna — add the outdoor wall-mount or puck antenna (3 m lead) where signal is weak, such as inside a metal hull or enclosure. After the included 5 years, the unit also supports a custom SIM.
