Victron Energy GX LTE 4G-A Cellular Modem for GX Devices (North America)

The Victron GX LTE 4G-A is a cellular modem that gives any Victron GX device its own internet connection — so your system reports to the VRM (Victron Remote Management) portal from anywhere there's a mobile signal. It's the simplest way to get remote monitoring on a boat at anchor, an RV on the road, or an off-grid site with no WiFi. This is the North America model (GX LTE 4G-A), tuned for the LTE bands used across the US and Canada; it also falls back to 3G and 2G where 4G isn't available.

It connects to the GX device (such as the Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX) through its integrated USB cable and is configured entirely from the GX menu — no app or computer required.

Built-in GPS tracking

The GX LTE 4G has a built-in GPS receiver. Add the optional Active GPS Antenna (Victron GSM900200100) and the system's live position is sent to VRM, where you can track the vehicle or vessel and set up geo-fence alerts — handy for fleets, charter boats, and theft awareness.

Important: it's a modem, not a router

The GX LTE 4G provides internet only for the connected GX device. It cannot share that connection with phones, tablets, or laptops. If you need cellular internet for the whole boat or rig (or a WiFi/Ethernet failover), use a dedicated mobile router instead and connect the GX to that.

What you'll need

• A Mini-SIM card with an active data plan (not included). A modest data allowance is plenty — VRM logging uses very little.
• A GX device running Venus OS v2.60 or newer. Compatible with every GX device (Cerbo, Ekrano, Color Control, etc.).
• A spare USB port on the GX (use a USB hub if all ports are in use).

What's in the box

GX LTE 4G unit with integrated USB cable, an indoor GSM 2G/3G/4G mini rod antenna, and a DC power cable (1.4 m, with inline 3.15 A slow-blow fuse and M10 ring terminals). For installs inside a metal enclosure, vehicle, or below decks, add the optional Outdoor 4G GSM Antenna (GSM900100400) — it typically lifts signal by 15–25 dB.
