Victron VE.Direct to RS232 Interface Cable

Reads a VE.Direct device over an RS232 serial port. This cable connects a Victron product with a VE.Direct port — a SmartSolar⁄BlueSolar MPPT, BMV battery monitor, SmartShunt, or VE.Direct inverter — to a computer or PLC's RS232 (DB9) port. It includes galvanic isolation, which Victron recommends because the VE.Direct device itself has very little protection on that port.

• What it does. Links a VE.Direct port to an RS232 (DB9) serial connection for reading data and configuration.
• Galvanically isolated. Protects both the Victron device and the host — the VE.Direct side is powered from the device, the RS232 side from the serial port's DTR⁄RTS lines.
• Prefer USB? The VE.Direct to USB interface does the same job over USB; or add the RS232-to-USB converter to use this cable on a laptop.
• For PLC and serial workflows. A common pick for industrial and OEM data logging where RS232 is the host link.
