60-day hassle-free returns
Note: This is a 230V / 50Hz (European standard) model with a single-phase output, most often used as a like-for-like replacement on a European-built boat. For US-standard 120/240V split phase you have three options: (1) configure the Quattro-II for 60Hz and pair it with a Victron Autotransformer also set to 60Hz, which splits the 230V/60Hz output into 120/240V; (2) use a Quattro-II 2x120V single-box split-phase unit; or (3) wire two Quattro 120V units in parallel (one per leg).
The Victron Quattro-II is an inverter/charger with two AC inputs and built-in ESS functionality. Connect both shore power and a generator (or two generators) directly to one unit - it automatically selects the active source - while delivering clean pure sine wave power, a fast adaptive charger, anti-islanding for energy storage systems, and PowerAssist, all from a single 5 kVA enclosure.
Available in 230V / 50Hz at 24V or 48V DC. Choose your battery voltage from the variant selector above.
Who the Quattro-II is built for
- European-built boats with shore power and a generator - the Quattro-II auto-selects between the dock and the genset with a seamless changeover.
- Energy Storage Systems (ESS) - anti-islanding, external current-sensor support, and grid-code approvals make it a natural fit for grid-parallel solar-plus-battery systems.
- Off-grid homes and cabins with a backup generator - solar and a genset both feed the same unit.
- Installers and electricians - VE.Bus communication, VEConfigure, and parallel/three-phase scaling.
Why this is the Quattro-II
Two AC inputs with an integrated transfer switch
Connect both shore power and a generator (or two generators) directly. The Quattro-II detects which source is live and switches automatically - no external transfer switch, no relays to size, no second enclosure on the wall.
No-break AC output and two AC outputs
The main output rides through any source loss in under 20 milliseconds, fast enough that computers and other electronics keep running. The second (auxiliary) output, rated 32 A, is live only when an AC source is present - so non-critical loads like a water heater can't drain the battery overnight.
PowerControl and PowerAssist
Set a maximum shore or generator current and the unit uses only the leftover capacity for charging, so the inlet breaker never trips (PowerControl). When a peak load exceeds the inlet rating, it supplements from the battery and recharges once the peak passes (PowerAssist).
ESS-ready with built-in anti-islanding
Built-in anti-islanding and grid-code approvals (see Victron's certificates) let the Quattro-II run a Victron Energy Storage System - self-consumption, peak-shaving, or grid backup - alongside SmartSolar MPPTs or a grid-tie PV inverter and a lithium bank.
Adaptive multi-stage charging - lithium and lead-acid friendly
A four-stage charge profile (bulk, absorption, float, storage) with adaptive-charge software and an included battery temperature sensor, fully programmable for lithium, AGM, gel, and flooded banks. Maximum charge current is 120 A (24V) or 70 A (48V).
Scales with your system
Up to six units run in parallel on a single VE.Bus for higher output, and three units configure for three phase.
Monitor and control from anywhere
Add a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX and your system is visible in the free VRM Portal from your phone, tablet, or laptop. Configure on-site with VEConfigure (via the MK3-USB interface) or the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (via the VE.Bus Smart dongle).

Installation and sizing help
Wiring a Quattro-II isn't plug-and-play. Battery cable sizing, fusing, both AC inlet ratings, and bonding all need to match the variant you choose. Two free resources to start with:
- Victron Wiring Unlimited - the canonical reference for sizing the DC and AC sides of a Victron system.
- Our AWG to Metric Conversion chart.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Quattro-II and the MultiPlus-II?
The MultiPlus-II has one AC input. The Quattro-II has two AC inputs with a built-in transfer switch and automatic source selection. Choose the Quattro-II if you run both shore power and a generator (or two generators).
Can I use this 230V unit on US 120/240V power?
Not directly - its output is 230V / 50Hz (European standard). To run on US power, configure the Quattro-II for 60Hz and pair it with a Victron Autotransformer also configured for 60Hz. Alternatively, the Quattro-II 2x120V or two Quattro 120V units in parallel give US split phase directly.
Is it lithium battery compatible?
Yes. The charger supports custom voltage and current profiles for LiFePO4 and other lithium chemistries, and it communicates with Victron's VE.Bus BMS over the communication port.
What warranty does it come with?
A 5-year limited warranty from Victron Energy, upgradable to 10 years for an additional 10% of the purchase price. Blue Marine handles the warranty claim process for you. Email support@bluemarine.com.
