60-day hassle-free returns
The Victron Quattro is a true marine- and off-grid-grade inverter/charger built for systems that can't afford to flicker. It combines a low-distortion pure sine wave inverter, a smart multi-stage battery charger, and an integrated dual-AC-input transfer switch in a single aluminum enclosure, so shore power, a generator, your battery bank, and your loads all live behind one device.
Available from 3 kVA to 10 kVA at 12V, 24V, or 48V DC, the Quattro 120V is lithium-compatible, UL-listed on key variants, and engineered to be paralleled, split-phased, or three-phased as your system grows.
Who the Quattro is built for
- Cruising boats and yachts - seamless changeover between shore power and the generator with a sub-20 ms transfer, so navigation electronics and AV gear never reboot.
- RVs, vans, and overlanders - run roof-mounted air conditioning or an induction cooktop off a modest generator using PowerAssist to fill in the peaks from the battery bank.
- Off-grid cabins and tiny homes - pair with MPPT solar chargers and a battery bank for a self-consumption or fully off-grid system that still accepts a backup genset.
- Installers and electricians - VE.Bus communication, DIP-switch standalone setup, and full configurability via VEConfigure, VE.Bus Quick Configure, and Assistants for grid-tie and self-consumption applications.
Why this is the Quattro, not just another inverter/charger
Two AC inputs with an integrated transfer switch
This is the headline feature. Connect both shore power and a generator (or two generators) directly to the Quattro. It detects which source is live and switches automatically - no external transfer switch, no relays to size, no second enclosure on the wall.
Two AC outputs, one with no-break transfer
The main output rides through any source loss in under 20 milliseconds, fast enough that computers, plotters, satellite gear, and CPAP machines stay running through the changeover. The second AC output only energizes when an AC source is present, so non-critical loads like a water heater or air-conditioner can't drain the battery overnight.
PowerControl - never trip the dock pedestal again
Set a current limit on each AC input. The Quattro accounts for everything else drawing on that circuit and uses only the leftover capacity for charging. The 30A pedestal stops popping, the generator stops bogging, and you stop walking outside in the rain to reset breakers.
PowerAssist - borrow from the battery when the load spikes
When a starting load (air conditioner compressor, microwave, induction cooktop) momentarily exceeds the shore or generator capacity, the Quattro instantly supplements from the battery bank. As soon as the peak passes, that energy is recharged from the source. You can run loads larger than your inlet rating.
Adaptive multi-stage charging - lithium and lead-acid friendly
A four-stage charge profile (bulk, absorption, float, storage) with a battery temperature sensor, plus dedicated programming for lithium chemistries. The 5 kVA models charge a house bank at up to 200 A (12V), 120 A (24V), or 70 A (48V), and the 48/10000 model delivers up to 140 A on the 48V house bank. The 12V and 24V variants also include a 4 A trickle output for a starter battery.
Scales with your system: parallel, split phase, three phase
Two units configure for split phase 120/240V. Three units configure for three phase. And up to four sets of three units can be paralleled, giving you up to 120 kVA of inverter power and over 1,600 A of charging capacity from a single Victron stack.
Monitor and control from anywhere
Add a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX and your entire system is visible in the free VRM Portal from your phone, tablet, or laptop, anywhere with internet. Configure on-site with the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (via the VE.Bus Smart dongle) or over USB with the MK3-USB interface.

Installation and sizing help
Wiring a Quattro into a marine, RV, or off-grid system isn't plug-and-play. Battery cable sizing, fusing, transfer switching, and grounding all need to match the model you choose. Two free resources to start with:
- Victron Wiring Unlimited - the canonical reference for sizing DC and AC sides of a Victron system.
- Our AWG to Metric Conversion chart.

Frequently asked questions
Can the Victron Quattro do split phase 120/240V on its own?
No. A single Quattro is a 120 VAC inverter. To get split phase 120/240 VAC you configure two matched Quattros together over VE.Bus. The pair behaves as one split-phase inverter/charger.
What's the difference between the Quattro and the MultiPlus?
The MultiPlus has one AC input. The Quattro has two AC inputs with a built-in transfer switch. If you have both shore power and a generator (or two generators), the Quattro saves you the cost and panel space of an external transfer switch. If you only ever connect one AC source, a MultiPlus may be all you need.
Is the Quattro lithium battery compatible?
Yes. The charger supports custom voltage and current profiles for LiFePO4 and other lithium chemistries, and it integrates with Victron's VE.Bus BMS and Smart BMS over the VE.Bus communication port.
Can I run a Quattro off solar only, with no shore power or generator?
Yes. Paired with Victron MPPT solar chargers and a battery bank, the Quattro runs as a true off-grid inverter. Add a Cerbo GX for monitoring and automated genset start/stop when the battery state-of-charge drops.
Does the Quattro need a Cerbo GX?
Not strictly. You can configure and monitor it with DIP switches, a Digital Multi Control panel, or the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (via the VE.Bus Smart dongle). A Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX adds remote monitoring through the free VRM Portal and is highly recommended for parallel or three-phase systems.
How fast does the Quattro switch between shore power and the generator?
Under 20 milliseconds on the main output, fast enough that computers, NAS units, and most AV gear ride through the transition without rebooting.
Are the UL-listed variants required for U.S. installations?
For many residential, commercial, and inspected installations, yes. UL 1741 listing is generally required for grid-interactive systems and for any installation requiring an inspection. Marine and off-grid installs may not require it, but UL variants are a safe default if you're unsure. Ask us if you need help confirming.
What warranty does the Quattro come with?
A 5-year limited warranty from Victron Energy, upgradable to 10 years for an additional 10% of the purchase price. Blue Marine handles the warranty claim process for you. Email support@bluemarine.com.
