Victron BlueSolar MPPT Charge Controller — 100/30 & 100/50
Free shipping over $49
60-day hassle-free returns
The same mid-range MPPT charging as the SmartSolar — without built-in Bluetooth. The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/30 and 100/50 use identical charging hardware to the SmartSolar versions: ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking, a multi-stage adaptive algorithm, and up to 98% efficiency on a 12 V or 24 V bank. The one difference is that Bluetooth isn't built in — add a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle for wireless setup, or configure over VE.Direct with a GX device. Want Bluetooth out of the box? Choose the SmartSolar version.
Who the BlueSolar MPPT 100/30 & 100/50 is built for
- Cruising sailboats — bimini and arch arrays in the 300–1,400 W range, where fast tracking beats rigging and sail shadow.
- Mid-size RVs, vans, and overlanders — a roof of two to four panels charging a 12 V or 24 V house bank.
- Small off-grid cabins and tiny homes — a growing array that has outgrown an entry-level controller.
- Budget-conscious and GX-monitored builds — the same charging as the SmartSolar; if you run a Cerbo GX you monitor over VE.Direct anyway.
How to read the model number
- First number = max PV input voltage. 100 V on both — enough for one or two panels in series.
- Second number = max charge current to the battery. 30 A on the 100/30, 50 A on the 100/50.
Combine those with the maximum PV wattage your system voltage supports to size the controller. Wesley walks the whole process in our MPPT sizing guide.
Choose your controller
| Model | Max PV input | Max charge current | Max PV power @ 12 V | Max PV power @ 24 V | Max PV short-circuit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BlueSolar 100/30 | 100 V | 30 A | 440 W | 880 W | 35 A |
| BlueSolar 100/50 | 100 V | 50 A | 700 W | 1,400 W | 60 A |
Both support 12 V and 24 V battery systems with auto-detection. Neither supports 48 V — for a 48 V bank, look at the BlueSolar 150- or 250-series instead.
Which one's right for your install:
- 100/30. Two 200 W panels on a 12 V sailboat, a single large panel on a van roof, most cruising bimini arrays under ~440 W on 12 V (or up to 880 W on 24 V). The default mid-range pick.
- 100/50. Three or four mid-sized panels on a cabin top, RV roofs running 500–1,400 W, off-grid sheds where you've grown out of the 100/30 but the array is still under ~700 W on 12 V (or ~1,400 W on 24 V).
Why these are the default mid-range picks
- Ultrafast MPPT, up to 98% efficiency. Harvests up to 30% more energy than a PWM controller and up to 10% more than a slower MPPT — the difference is real on a partly cloudy day at anchor.
- Smart partial-shading algorithm. The BlueSolar algorithm scans the whole power curve and locks to the true maximum instead of a local peak — useful with rigging shadow or a roof rack crossing the array.
- VE.Direct port. Connects to a Cerbo GX, Color Control GX, or the MPPT Control display for live data, alerts, and remote access via VRM. Add a Bluetooth dongle for wireless setup from your phone.
- Multi-stage charging for every common chemistry. Eight pre-programmed profiles (lithium, AGM, gel, flooded) selectable from a rotary switch, plus a fully programmable mode. Lithium banks must be set to the correct profile.
- VE.Smart Networking (with a dongle or Smart Battery Sense). Get temperature- and voltage-compensated charging by reading the battery at the bank instead of estimating at the controller.
- Recovers fully discharged banks. Resumes charging on a bank pulled down to 0 V.
- Passive cooling. No fan, no audible noise. Full rated output up to 40 °C (104 °F); rated to operate from -30 °C to +60 °C.

What's in the box
BlueSolar charge controller, mounting screws, and the printed quick-start guide. Not included: VE.Direct cable, VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle (for wireless), a fuse sized to the charge current, PV cables, and battery cables sized to AWG 6 or larger.
Pair with
- VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle — adds wireless VictronConnect setup and monitoring.
- VE.Direct cable — required if you're integrating with a Cerbo GX or other GX device.
- MEGA fuse on the battery side — Victron specifies 35–40 A for the 100/30 and 55–70 A for the 100/50.
- Smart Battery Sense or BMV-712 — feeds true battery voltage and temperature to the controller for more accurate charging.
- Cerbo GX MK2 or Ekrano GX — for always-on monitoring and remote access through VRM.
FAQs
Q: BlueSolar or SmartSolar — what's the difference?
The charging hardware is identical. SmartSolar has Bluetooth built in; BlueSolar does not. With a BlueSolar you add a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle for wireless, or configure over VE.Direct with a GX device. If you want Bluetooth out of the box, buy the SmartSolar.
Q: Do I need the dongle?
Only if you want wireless setup/monitoring and don't have a GX device. If you run a Cerbo GX (or use the MPPT Control display), you configure and monitor over VE.Direct without it.
Q: Can I use this with a lithium battery?
Yes — lithium is one of the eight pre-programmed chemistries. Select the right profile during setup; for third-party LFP, follow the battery maker's charge voltages.
Q: Can I run this on a 48 V system?
No. The 100/30 and 100/50 are 12 V/24 V only. For 48 V, look at the BlueSolar 150- or 250-series.
Q: What size fuse do I need?
35–40 A for the 100/30 and 55–70 A for the 100/50, per Victron's installation manual. We stock MEGA fuses in all of those values.
Q: What battery cable should I use?
AWG 6 (16 mm²) flexible multi-stranded copper for the battery and PV connections. Don't use solid-core or coarse-stranded cable.
Q: What's the warranty?
5 years from date of purchase, extendable to 10 years for a 10% surcharge. Standard Victron limited warranty applies.
