Overview
The K-1 Outboard Kit is Bixpy's best-selling way to put a motor on almost anything that floats — paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, and small inflatables. Everything you need comes in one box: the 2.7 lb K-1 motor, a buoyant waterproof Power Pack, a wireless remote, and a magnetic kill switch. Clip the motor to a mounting adapter, strap the battery down, and you're moving at up to 5.5 mph without paddling.
What makes the K-1 different from a trolling motor is how small and versatile it is. The motor weighs less than a full water bottle, the battery floats if it goes overboard, and the whole system runs from a wireless remote with 12 forward and 3 reverse speeds. For paddlers here in the Northwest, it's the difference between fighting an outgoing tide and enjoying the ride home.
One thing to plan for: the kit doesn't include a mounting adapter, because every craft attaches differently. Paddleboards use one of the SUP fin box adapters — see Compatibility & Mounting below to find the right one for your board.

Applications & Use Cases
Paddleboarders use the K-1 to get back against wind and current, extend fishing range, or just cover more water. Kayakers add it for trolling and long crossings. It also suits canoes, packrafts, and small inflatables — anywhere a full trolling motor and lead-acid battery would be too much weight and bulk. Around Puget Sound, the tide doesn't always agree with your schedule; a K-1 means the trip home takes the time you planned, not the time the current allows.
Compatibility & Mounting
The K-1 clicks onto Bixpy's mounting adapters — the kit itself ships without one, so add the mount that matches your craft:
- Paddleboards: one of the SUP Fin Box Adapters (US fin box, Slide & Lock, or Flip & Lock), or a DIY fin box adapter if your board has no fin box.

The included Power Pack runs the motor on its own — no wiring needed. If you'd rather run the K-1 from your own 24V battery, look at the K-Power Motor Kit instead.
Care & Maintenance
Rinse the motor with fresh water after saltwater use and check the propeller for fishing line or weeds now and then. The K-1 Kare Kit keeps a spare propeller, weed grill, and remote battery in your kit bag. Store the Power Pack indoors at moderate temperature, and top up the charge before long storage.
Warranty
Covered by Bixpy's 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship (2 years in the EU), from the date of original purchase from Blue Marine or another authorized Bixpy dealer. Bixpy products are made for recreational use — commercial and rental use isn't covered. Warranty service runs through Bixpy's US headquarters in San Diego, and as an authorized dealer we'll help with any claim.
