The Torqeedo Travel (1160-00) delivers quiet, clean, efficient electric propulsion for dinghies, tenders, daysailers, and other small boats. Compact, lightweight, and easy to handle, it is the perfect alternative to a 3 HP gas outboard — without the noise, fumes, or maintenance. With 1,100 W of input power (930 W shaft output) at 44 V, an onboard GPS computer, and full IP67 waterproofing, it is built to make electric boating effortless.

Battery not included. The Travel pairs with the Torqeedo Travel Battery (recommended) or the higher-capacity Travel Battery XP (1512 Wh), which adds up to about 40% more range. Both are sold separately.

How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length

Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates (sucks air) and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.

1. Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom (where the motor clamps) to the lowest point of the hull/keel at the centerline.
2. Match it to the shaft length. Per Torqeedo's own guidance, a transom of about 15 in (38 cm) calls for the Short (S) shaft; about 20 in (51 cm) calls for the Long (L) shaft.
3. When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.

The Travel is covered by Torqeedo's 24-month limited warranty from date of delivery against defects in workmanship and materials under normal, non-commercial use with proper installation and maintenance — Torqeedo repairs or replaces at its discretion. Normal wear and routine servicing are excluded, and claims must be made within 6 months of discovering the issue.
