Victron Lithium Battery 12.8V & 25.6V Smart

Victron Energy Lithium Battery Smart batteries are composed of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) and come in 12.8V and 25.6V output options. They can be linked in series, parallel, and series/parallel combinations to create battery banks of 12V, 24V or 48V system voltages.

A Victron Lithium Battery 12.8V & 25.6V Smart consists of 4 and 8 cells connected in series respectively, each cell having a nominal voltage of 3.2V. 

A lead-acid battery may experience sulfation if it is regularly undercharged, left partially charged, or left fully discharged for extended periods (such as during winter in mobile homes or yachts). This will ultimately lead to premature failure.

A major advantage lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries have is the fact that they don't need to be fully charged. In fact, service life even increases if charge is only partial. Other benefits include a wide operating temperature range, improved cycling performance, lower internal resistance, and greater efficiency (see attached data sheet for full details). Compared to lead-acid, LFP batteries can save up to 70 % in terms of space and weight.

Cell voltages, temperature, and alarm status can all be monitored via Bluetooth. Through the VictronConnect App, most pertinent data can be accessed on the Device list page without the need to connect with the product, making it simpler to identify any potential issues, such as cell imbalance.

Victron LFP batteries feature built-in cell balancing and cell monitoring, with daisy-chained cell balancing/monitoring cables requiring connection to a Battery Management System (BMS).
