Victron Energy Orion IP67 Waterproof DC-DC Converter (24/12 & 12/24)

The Orion IP67 is Victron's fully sealed, go-anywhere DC-DC converter — for converting between 12 V and 24 V systems in places where water, dirt, oil, and vibration would kill an ordinary converter. The electronics are moulded in resin inside a cast-aluminium case, making the whole unit waterproof, shockproof, and ignition protected. Mount it in an engine bay, a wet locker, an open deck, or a machine room and it just keeps running.

Built to be submerged in the real world

Full IP67 sealing means dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion — a different league from the IP20/IP43 indoor converters. There are no vents or fans to let water in; cooling is handled by the aluminium body. It runs from −40 to +70 °C (full rated output up to 40 °C).

Wide input, clean output

A wide input range keeps the output stable through the surges and sags a battery sees when other equipment switches on and off. Output is tightly regulated to ±3%. Overload protection uses an auto-recovering hiccup mode, and the converter is short-circuit proof; reverse-polarity protection requires an external fuse or circuit breaker (not included), so be sure to fuse the input.

Extra-long cables — easier sealed installs

The smaller models (5/10/20 A) come with 1.8 m input and output cables already attached, so you rarely need to splice in extensions — a real reliability win where you're trying to keep an IP67 install watertight. The high-current 50 A and 100 A models use M6 bolt terminals.

Choosing your model

All are non-isolated. The 24/12 models step a 24 V system down to 12 V (5 A / 10 A / 20 A / 100 A); the 12/24-50 steps a 12 V system up to 24 V at 50 A.
