Free shipping over $49
60-day hassle-free returns
The Victron MultiPlus is a true sine wave inverter, an adaptive multi-stage battery charger, and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. Connect one shore-power or generator inlet, your battery bank, and your loads to one device - and when the AC source drops, the MultiPlus takes over the load in under 20 milliseconds, so navigation electronics, computers, and AV gear never reboot.
This listing is the 2000VA MultiPlus at 120V / 60Hz, available in 12V, 24V, or 48V DC. All three deliver the same 1,600 W of continuous pure sine wave power; the difference is the DC battery voltage and the built-in charge rate. Choose your battery voltage from the variant selector above.
Who the MultiPlus 2000VA is built for
- Boats and yachts - clean, quiet power for navigation electronics, refrigeration, and AV gear, with PowerAssist so a modest shore inlet still runs real loads.
- RVs, vans, and overlanders - run a microwave, coffee maker, or small induction burner off a battery bank, with a fast charger to refill it on shore power.
- Off-grid cabins and backup power - pair with MPPT solar and a battery bank for a self-consumption or backup system; the 48V model suits higher-efficiency off-grid builds.
- Installers and DIYers - VE.Bus communication, DIP-switch setup, and full configurability via VictronConnect and VEConfigure.
Why this is the MultiPlus
Inverter, charger, and transfer switch in one box
The MultiPlus combines a low-distortion pure sine wave inverter, a smart adaptive charger, and an integrated 50 A AC transfer switch. One AC input feeds the unit - it charges the battery when shore or generator power is present and inverts from the battery when it is not. (If you need two AC inputs for both shore power and a generator with automatic source selection, look at the Victron Quattro instead.)
PowerControl - never trip the dock pedestal or bog the generator
Set a current limit on the AC input. The MultiPlus accounts for everything else drawing on that circuit and uses only the leftover capacity for charging, so the pedestal breaker stops popping and the generator stops lugging.
PowerAssist - borrow from the battery when the load spikes
When a starting load momentarily exceeds the shore or generator capacity, the MultiPlus instantly supplements the shortfall from the battery bank. As soon as the peak passes, the spare power recharges the battery. You can run loads larger than your inlet rating.
No-break AC output and high start-up power
The output rides through any source loss in under 20 milliseconds, fast enough that computers, plotters, and CPAP machines stay running through the changeover. High inrush capability starts demanding loads such as power converters for LED or halogen lamps, and electric tools.
Adaptive multi-stage charging - lithium and lead-acid friendly
A four-stage charge profile (bulk, absorption, float, storage) with adaptive-charge software and an included battery temperature sensor, plus dedicated programming for lithium chemistries. House-battery charge current is 80 A (12V), 50 A (24V), or 25 A (48V). The 12V and 24V models also include a 1 A trickle output to keep an engine or generator starter battery topped up.
Scales with your system: parallel and three phase
Up to six MultiPlus units can run in parallel for higher output, and three units configure for three phase, all over VE.Bus.
Monitor and control from anywhere
Add a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX and your system is visible in the free VRM Portal from your phone, tablet, or laptop. Configure on-site with the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth (via the VE.Bus Smart dongle) or over USB with the MK3-USB interface. Read: Is the MultiPlus Smart?

Installation and sizing help
Wiring a MultiPlus into a marine, RV, or off-grid system isn't plug-and-play. Battery cable sizing, fusing (these models have no internal DC fuse, so external fusing is required), and grounding all need to match the model you choose. Two free resources to start with:
- Victron Wiring Unlimited - the canonical reference for sizing the DC and AC sides of a Victron system.
- Our AWG to Metric Conversion chart.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the MultiPlus and the Quattro?
The MultiPlus has one AC input. The Quattro has two AC inputs with a built-in transfer switch. If you have both shore power and a generator and want automatic source selection, the Quattro saves you an external transfer switch. If you only ever connect one AC source, the MultiPlus is all you need.
Which battery voltage should I choose - 12V, 24V, or 48V?
All three deliver the same 1,600 W output. Lower voltage (12V) is common in smaller RV and boat house systems; 24V and 48V draw less current for the same power, allowing smaller battery cables and slightly higher efficiency - 48V is popular in larger off-grid builds. Match the MultiPlus to your existing or planned battery bank voltage.
Does this MultiPlus have a second AC output?
No. The second (non-critical) AC output is a feature of the larger 3 kVA and up MultiPlus models. The 2000VA has a single AC output.
Is the MultiPlus lithium battery compatible?
Yes. The charger supports custom voltage and current profiles for LiFePO4 and other lithium chemistries, and it communicates with Victron's VE.Bus BMS over the communication port.
What warranty does the MultiPlus come with?
A 5-year limited warranty from Victron Energy, upgradable to 10 years for an additional 10% of the purchase price. Blue Marine handles the warranty claim process for you. Email support@bluemarine.com.
