The VE.Bus Smart Dongle adds Bluetooth monitoring and control to a Victron inverter/charger or inverter that has a VE.Bus port — MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, Quattro, MultiGrid, and similar. Pair it with the free VictronConnect app and you can run the system from your phone without adding a full GX device: it's the simple, affordable way to keep tabs on the inverter/charger in a campervan, smaller yacht, or motorhome.
What you can do from your phone
- Control: switch the inverter/charger on / off / charger-only and adjust the AC input current limit (handy when you're on a small shore-power pedestal or a generator).
- Monitor: read AC and DC parameters, device status, warnings, and alarms — with Instant Readout showing the key figures on the VictronConnect device list before you even connect.
- Works across a bank: connect to a single unit or to multiple inverter/chargers wired in parallel and/or three-phase.
- Doubles as a battery sensor: it measures battery voltage and temperature and can feed those to the inverter/charger and to VE.Smart Networking for smarter charging. An optional external temperature sensor can be used instead of the built-in one.
Good to know: the dongle monitors and controls but does not configure the inverter/charger and cannot update its firmware — use a MK3-USB interface with VictronConnect for setup and firmware. Also, a VE.Bus RJ45 (UTP) cable is required to connect the dongle to the inverter/charger and is not included — add one to your order. For full system control, a touchscreen, or remote VRM access, step up to a Cerbo GX.
What's in the box
VE.Bus Smart Dongle, removable screw-terminal block, black battery (−) wire with 10 mm eye terminal, and red battery (+) wire with 10 mm eye terminal and inline fuse. Not included: the VE.Bus RJ45 cable (required) and the optional external temperature sensor.
