Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger (120V, Bluetooth)

The Victron Blue Smart IP22 is a Bluetooth-enabled smart battery charger for marine, RV, and off-grid use. It charges both lead-acid and lithium banks with a 6-stage adaptive algorithm, monitors and configures over Bluetooth in the free VictronConnect app, and can be linked with other Victron chargers and monitors over VE.Smart Networking. Available in 12V (15/20/30 A) and 24V (8/12/16 A), in single-output and three-output versions.

One output or three?

• 1 output - charges a single battery or bank. The simplest choice for one house bank.
• 3 outputs - charges up to three separate banks independently from one charger (for example house, engine-start, and a thruster or generator-start battery). The full charge current is shared as needed across whichever batteries need it.

Bluetooth and VE.Smart Networking

Monitor and configure the charger from your phone, and update its firmware over the air. VE.Smart Networking lets a Smart Battery Sense, SmartShunt, or BMV-712 send true battery voltage and temperature to the charger for temperature-compensated charging - and lets up to ten chargers synchronize as one large charger.

6-stage adaptive charging

Test, bulk, absorption, recondition, float, and storage - the microprocessor tunes the process to how the battery is used. Storage mode drops the float voltage after 24 hours idle to reduce gassing and corrosion, with a weekly refresh.

Quiet NIGHT and LOW modes

NIGHT/LOW mode halves the output current and silences the fan - NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. Ideal for charging aboard overnight.

High efficiency, low idle draw

Up to 94% efficient with just 0.5 W draw once the battery is full - far less heat and standby consumption than typical chargers.

Charges lithium and recovers flat batteries

Dedicated Li-ion profile, plus a fully-discharged recovery function that starts charging even a battery sitting at zero volts (and reconnects to a lithium battery whose BMS has disconnected).

What's the difference between 1 output and 3 outputs?

A 1-output charger charges a single bank. A 3-output charger charges up to three separate banks independently from one unit - common for keeping house, start, and thruster batteries topped up. The rated current is shared between the banks as needed.

Does it charge lithium batteries?

Yes - select the Li-ion profile. It also has a fully-discharged recovery function that can wake a battery at zero volts and reconnect to a lithium battery whose BMS has tripped.

Can I leave it connected long-term?

Yes. Storage mode lowers the voltage after 24 hours idle to reduce aging, with a weekly refresh - safe for long-term float and storage.

Can I use it as a power supply?

Yes, the IP22 can run as a fixed-voltage DC power supply.
