The Victron AGM Super Cycle is an advanced sealed AGM battery built to survive deep discharges that would kill an ordinary lead-acid battery. A new positive-plate paste resists softening and new electrolyte additives reduce sulfation, so the Super Cycle tolerates repeated deep cycling - including occasional discharge all the way to 100%. It's a true drop-in (no BMS), maintenance-free, and a bit lighter and more compact than Victron's standard deep-cycle AGM.
When to choose the Super Cycle
Victron recommends the Super Cycle for applications where you expect occasional discharge to 100% DoD, or frequent discharge to 60-80% DoD - exactly the kind of cycling that prematurely ages a standard AGM. If your bank routinely gets drawn down hard (liveaboard house loads, daily off-grid cycling), the Super Cycle is the AGM to reach for. For lighter-duty or starting use, the standard GEL & AGM Deep Cycle range is a more economical pick.
Who it's built for
- Liveaboards and daily-cycle off-grid - a lead-acid bank that shrugs off the deep, repeated discharges of everyday use.
- Boats and RVs - sealed, maintenance-free, mountable in any orientation except terminals-down, and a true drop-in with no BMS.
- Budget-conscious deep cyclers - much of lithium's deep-cycle tolerance at a lower up-front cost, when you don't need lithium's weight savings or efficiency.
Why the Super Cycle
Exceptional 100% DoD performance
Tested to withstand at least 300 cycles at 100% depth of discharge - including a punishing two-hour rest in the discharged state that damages most batteries within 100 cycles. At shallower depths it lasts far longer (see cycle life below).
Lighter and more compact
The new chemistry is slightly smaller and lighter than Victron's standard deep-cycle AGM of the same capacity - easier to fit and handle in mobile and marine installs.
Low internal resistance
Slightly lower internal resistance than the standard deep-cycle AGM, for strong charge and discharge performance.
Sealed and maintenance-free
VRLA construction - no watering, no routine maintenance, safe to mount in any orientation except terminals-down.
Available variants

Cycle life
- ≥ 300 cycles at 100% DoD
- ≥ 700 cycles at 60% DoD
- ≥ 1,000 cycles at 40% DoD
As with any lead-acid battery, shallower discharges greatly extend life - but the Super Cycle is the Victron AGM designed to take the deep ones.
Charging
- Charge with a Victron charger or MPPT set to the AGM profile.
- Absorption: 14.2-14.6 V (normal) or 14.6-14.9 V (fast recharge); float 13.5-13.8 V; storage 13.2-13.5 V.
- Charge current preferably 0.2C or less.
- Temperature compensation -24 mV/°C for a 12V battery, centered at 25 C; required below 10 C or above 30 C for long periods.
Full technical specifications
- Technology: sealed VRLA AGM (Super Cycle chemistry); copper terminal inserts (M6 on 100Ah, M8 on 125Ah)
- Maintenance: maintenance-free for life
- Rated capacity: at the 20-hour (C20) discharge rate, 25 C
- Reserve capacity: 170 min (100Ah) / 220 min (125Ah)
- Mounting: any orientation except terminals facing down
Recommended accessories
- Victron Blue Smart chargers - with a built-in AGM profile

Frequently asked questions
How is the Super Cycle different from a standard AGM deep-cycle?
The Super Cycle uses an improved plate paste and electrolyte additives that resist sulfation and plate softening under deep discharge - so it survives repeated deep cycles (including occasional 100% DoD) that would shorten a standard AGM's life. It's also slightly lighter and more compact.
Does it need a BMS?
No. It's a drop-in lead-acid battery - just charge it with the correct AGM profile.
Should I get this or lithium?
The Super Cycle gives you much of lithium's deep-cycle tolerance at a lower up-front cost. Lithium still wins on weight, usable capacity, charge speed, and efficiency. If those matter, look at the Victron Lithium range; if budget and a true drop-in matter more, the Super Cycle is an excellent choice. We're happy to help you compare.
What warranty does it come with?
A 2-year worldwide limited warranty from Victron Energy. Blue Marine handles the warranty claim process for you. Email support@bluemarine.com.
