Step up to planing speeds. The Cruise 6.0 R delivers 9.9 HP equivalent thrust for sailboats up to 35 feet and motorboats up to 6 tons — quietly, efficiently, and without a drop of fuel.
Overview
When you need real working power on the water, the Torqeedo Cruise 6.0 R is the smallest electric outboard in the lineup that crosses into planing territory. With 6,000 watts of input power and 230 lbs of static thrust, it pushes displacement boats up to 6 tons confidently against current and wind, gets the right hull up on plane, and replaces a 9.9 HP gasoline outboard pound-for-pound on capability — without the fuel costs, oil changes, or two-stroke noise that come with combustion power.
The remote-steered (R) configuration is built for boats with a proper helm: console-mounted throttle, hydraulic or mechanical steering, and clean cable runs through the transom. Pair it with the Power 48-5000 lithium battery as a starting point, and scale up to 16 batteries on the same TorqLink backbone as your range and speed needs grow. For sailors, it's the right answer when the 3.0 doesn't quite have the muscle for heavier boats or longer auxiliary runs. For powerboaters, it's the entry point into electric planing.
The 2026 generation brings improved corrosion protection, a redesigned metallic shaft cage, and Torqeedo's TorqLink digital communication system — so the motor, battery, and throttle share live data through the TorqView app on your phone.
Why You'll Love It
- 9.9 HP propulsive equivalence from 6,000 W of input power — the smallest Cruise that gets the right hull on plane
- 230 lbs of static thrust for confident handling of heavier boats and challenging conditions
- Whisper-quiet operation at all throttle positions
- Saltwater-ready with upgraded corrosion-resistant materials and a metallic shaft cage
- TorqLink connectivity for real-time monitoring, trip data, and over-the-air updates via the TorqView app
- Manual tilting with impact protection and 4-step manual trim adjustment
- Stepless forward and reverse for precise low-speed maneuvering
- Scalable battery system — start with one Power 48-5000 and grow to a 16-battery bank as your needs evolve
- Two shaft lengths — 24.6" (short) for 15" transoms or 29.7" (long) for 20" transoms
Built for Real Boating
The Cruise 6.0 R hits the practical sweet spot for owners moving up from auxiliary trolling power to a primary propulsion system. It's the right motor for a 30–35 ft cruising sailboat, a heavier displacement skiff, a working tender at a yacht club, or a small powerboat owner ready to make the switch from gasoline. The remote-steered configuration installs cleanly with a console throttle and standard steering hardware — no compromises at the helm.
What's in the Box
- Cruise 6.0 R outboard motor with TorqLink data communication
- Connection to remote steering
- Cable set (14 ft, 35 mm² / ≈ 2 AWG) with main battery switch
- Standard propeller (B 12.5 × 17 HSP)
Throttle sold separately. We recommend the TorqLink Throttle with color display (Torqeedo P/N 1976-00) to unlock TorqView app connectivity and over-the-air updates.
Note: If you plan to run this motor on a third-party battery bank or a Torqeedo Power 24-3500, you'll also need cable set P/N 1990-00.
