The Torqeedo Cruise 3.0 R replaces that two-stroke racket with smooth, silent 48-volt propulsion — giving you the propulsive equivalent of a 6 HP gasoline outboard with none of the maintenance headaches.

How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length

Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates (sucks air) and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.

1. Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom (where the motor clamps) to the bottom of the hull at the centerline.
2. Match it to the shaft option. The short shaft (24.6 in / 62.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 15 in (38 cm); the long shaft (29.7 in / 75.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 20 in (51 cm).
3. When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.
