Quiet power for sailboats and tenders up to 3 tons. Six horsepower of clean, instant thrust — no fuel, no fumes, no fuss.
Overview
When you're docking at sunrise or sneaking out of a quiet anchorage, the last thing you want is a gas outboard announcing your departure. The Torqeedo Cruise 3.0 R replaces that two-stroke racket with smooth, silent 48-volt propulsion — and gives you the equivalent of a 6 HP gasoline outboard with none of the maintenance headaches.
Designed for displacement boats and sailboats up to 30 feet, the Cruise 3.0 R is Torqeedo's most popular small-craft outboard for good reason: it delivers genuinely useful range, integrates cleanly with modern lithium battery banks, and stays out of your way. Pair it with a single Power 48-5000 battery for up to 1 hour and 40 minutes at full throttle — or all-day cruising at relaxed speeds. Need more endurance? Scale up with as many as 16 batteries on the same system.
The 2026 generation brings improved corrosion protection, a redesigned metallic shaft cage for added durability, and Torqeedo's TorqLink digital communication backbone — so battery, throttle, and motor speak the same language and share live data through the TorqView app on your phone.
Why You'll Love It
- 6 HP propulsive equivalence from 3,000 W of input power — enough to push a 30-foot sailboat against tide and wind
- 142 lbs of static thrust for confident maneuvering in tight marinas
- Whisper-quiet operation that lets you actually enjoy the water
- Saltwater-ready with upgraded corrosion-resistant materials and a metallic shaft cage
- TorqLink connectivity for real-time monitoring, trip data, and over-the-air updates via the TorqView app
- Scalable battery system — start with one Power 48-5000 and grow to a 16-battery bank as your needs evolve
- Two shaft lengths — 24.6" (short) for 15" transoms or 29.7" (long) for 20" transoms
- Tiller or remote-throttle steering — choose the configuration that suits your helm
Built for Real Boating
Cruise outboards have powered everything from tender shuttles at busy yacht clubs to long-range sailboat auxiliary propulsion across open water. The 3.0 R hits the sweet spot for owners who want serious electric capability without stepping up to a larger system: enough power for genuine work, light enough for one-person handling at 46–47 lbs depending on configuration, and modular enough to grow with your goals — whether that's adding solar charging, integrating with shore power, or expanding battery capacity for longer passages.
What's in the Box
- Cruise 3.0 R outboard motor
- Connection cable to remote steering (13 ft short-shaft / 13.5 ft long-shaft, 35 mm² / ≈ 2 AWG)
- Main battery switch
- Standard propeller (B 12 × 10.5 WDR)
Throttle sold separately. We recommend the TorqLink Throttle with color display (Torqeedo P/N 1976-00) to unlock TorqView app connectivity and over-the-air updates.
