Overview

Cruise motors have been the electric outboard of choice for motorboats, dinghies, and commercial users since 2006. Every Cruise system has a built-in GPS, onboard computer, and display showing speed, input power, state of charge, and remaining range — all behind a compact, low-drag, lightweight pylon thanks to advanced helical-gear design.

The Cruise 12.0 R is a 48-volt, 25 HP-equivalent outboard built for boats up to about 10 tons. With 12,000 watts of input power and up to 405 lbs of static thrust, it delivers strong, confident propulsion against tide and wind. The built-in TorqLink interface lets the motor, batteries, throttle, and display share fast, accurate data without a separate gateway, with live readings via the TorqView app.

How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length

Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.

1. Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom to the bottom of the hull at the centerline.
2. Match it to the shaft option. The Cruise 12.0 R offers three shaft lengths: Short (S, 38.5 cm) for transoms up to about 15 in (38 cm), Long (L, 51.2 cm) for transoms up to about 20 in (51 cm), and Extra-Long (XL, 63.9 cm) for transoms up to about 25 in (64 cm).
3. When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.
