ePropulsion POD Drive eSSA — 96V Electric Pod Drives

The POD Drive eSSA is ePropulsion's space-saving 96-volt pod propulsion for larger yachts and cruisers — ideal for new builds and saildrive repowers. The motor, propeller, and cooling integrate into one compact unit mounted beneath the hull, freeing the interior volume a traditional inboard and shaft line would consume. Built from marine-grade, high-strength aluminium for constant saltwater exposure, the underwater motor self-cools through water submersion.

Two models

• POD 12 eSSA — 12 kW forward / 6 kW reverse, for smaller cruisers and multihulls.
• POD 20 eSSA — 20 kW forward / 10 kW reverse, for larger yachts and catamarans.

One connected system — eSSA

Runs on ePropulsion's eSSA architecture. Complete the system with a 96V G-Series battery (G102-100 or G102-230), a G-Series charger or 2 kW MPPT solar controller, and your choice of Smart control/display. A POD-specific Power Steering Module and saildrive conversion kit are available (see POD Drive eSSA accessories). Our advisors will spec the install with you.

You also need a 12V battery. Beyond the 96V propulsion pack, the POD uses a separate 12V supply for its controls, display, and electronics, charged from the propulsion pack via an included 96V→12V DC-DC converter (500W). The 12V battery is not included and should support ≥36 A charge, ≥40 A continuous discharge, and ≥80 Ah capacity (a lead-acid battery should be ≥120 Ah) — we'll spec it with the rest of your system.

Warranty

Covered by ePropulsion's 24-month limited warranty (from delivery to the first end customer) against defects in materials and workmanship under normal recreational use with proper installation and maintenance. Commercial or professional use is covered by your local statutory warranty instead. Blue Marine is an authorized ePropulsion dealer and will help with any claim.
