Victron Energy Battery Balancer (for Series 24V & 48V Banks)

The Victron Battery Balancer equalizes the state of charge of two series-connected 12V batteries (a 24V bank), or several parallel strings of series batteries. Mismatched cells in a series string charge and age unevenly; left unchecked, one battery is chronically overcharged while another never fills — shortening the life of the whole bank. The Balancer corrects this automatically.

When the charge voltage of a 24V bank rises above 27V, the Balancer switches on and compares the two series batteries. It draws up to 1A from the battery with the higher voltage, creating a charge-current differential that pulls both toward the same state of charge.
