The Victron Energy Battery Balancer is designed to equalize the state of charge of 12V batteries connected in series, or several parallel strings of series-connected batteries. Once charge voltage exceeds 27V in a 24V battery system, the Balancer will activate, measuring voltage via both series-connected batteries. Up to 1A of current can be drawn from the battery with the highest voltage, creating a differential in charge current and ensuring all batteries reach the same state of charge. Several balancers can be paralleled for wider applications. For instance, a 48V battery bank requires three Battery Balancers.
