The Single Biggest Decision: How Many AC Inputs?
MultiPlus-II: One AC input. Connect one AC source — shore power, or a generator, or an external transfer switch. Right for most boats and RVs that run shore power as their primary AC source and either don’t have an onboard generator or manage generator switching externally.
Quattro: Two AC inputs. Connect shore power to one and a generator to the other. The Quattro manages which source it uses automatically — when shore drops out, it switches to the generator with no external transfer switch needed. For boats and RVs with both a generator and shore power and you want seamless automatic switching, the Quattro is worth the premium.
System Voltage: 12V, 24V, or 48V?
Every Victron inverter/charger is available in 12V, 24V, and 48V. Match it to your battery bank voltage. 12V remains most common in marine applications; 24V and 48V have grown in RV and off-grid applications due to better efficiency at high loads.
Inverting Capacity: How Many Watts?

AC Out 1 vs. AC Out 2: AC Out 1 stays live at all times — refrigerator, navigation, lights belong here. AC Out 2 only passes power when AC input is present; it goes dead on batteries. Use it for loads you don’t want accidentally draining your bank, like air conditioning.
Battery Profile Configuration: Out of the box, all units are configured for lead-acid profiles. For LiFePO4, you need to reconfigure via an MK3-USB interface and Victron’s VEConfigure software. This step is non-negotiable for lithium — incorrect profiles will shorten battery life or trigger BMS disconnects.
VE.Bus Port: Every unit has a VE.Bus port for connecting to a Cerbo GX for centralized monitoring and control across your full Victron system.
