Free shipping over $49
60-day hassle-free returns
Tiller-controlled 9.9 HP-equivalent power for sailboats up to 35 feet and motorboats up to 6 tons. Direct, hands-on control with the integrated tiller computer right where you need it.
Overview
The Cruise 6.0 T is the tiller version of Torqeedo's smallest planing-capable electric outboard — and the right choice when you want serious power without the complexity of remote steering. Whether you're repowering a heavier sailboat, running a working tender, or stepping into a small electric powerboat, the 6.0 T puts 6,000 watts of input power and 230 lbs of static thrust under direct tiller control, with everything you need to monitor your trip built right into the handle.
The integrated onboard computer displays speed, power draw, battery state, and GPS-based remaining range, so you always know how far you can go before turning back. An emergency magnetic stop key adds a layer of safety for solo runs. Pair the motor with a single Power 48-5000 lithium battery to get started, and scale up to as many as 16 batteries on the same TorqLink backbone as your range needs grow.
Key Features
- 9.9 HP propulsive equivalence from 6,000 W of input power — gets the right hull on plane and pushes heavier boats with confidence.
- 230 lbs of static thrust for working through current, crosswinds, and loaded conditions.
- Integrated tiller computer with on-screen speed, power draw, and GPS-based remaining range.
- Emergency magnetic stop key for safety on solo or rough-water runs.
- Whisper-quiet operation at all throttle positions.
- Saltwater-ready with upgraded corrosion-resistant materials and a metallic shaft cage.
- TorqLink connectivity for clean integration with Torqeedo's 48 V battery and accessory ecosystem.
- Manual tilt with impact protection, 4-step manual trim, and stepless forward/reverse.
- Scalable battery system — start with one Power 48-5000 and grow to a 16-battery bank.
How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length
Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.
- Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom to the bottom of the hull at the centerline.
- Match it to the shaft option. The short shaft (24.6 in / 62.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 15 in (38 cm); the long shaft (29.7 in / 75.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 20 in (51 cm).
- When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.
| Shaft option | Total shaft length | Fits transom up to |
|---|---|---|
| Short (TS) | 24.6 in (62.5 cm) | ~15 in (38 cm) |
| Long (TL) | 29.7 in (75.5 cm) | ~20 in (51 cm) |
Why a Tiller?
For boats without a dedicated helm — small sailboats, working tenders, beach-launched skiffs — tiller control is simpler, more direct, and easier to install. No steering cables, no console throttle wiring, no helm modifications. The integrated display puts your trip data right where your hand already is.
