Overview

The Torqeedo Cruise 6.0 R TorqLink is a 48-volt, 9.9 HP-equivalent electric outboard for boats up to about 6 tons. Delivering 6,000 watts of input power and 230 lbs of static thrust, it pushes heavier displacement boats confidently against current and wind and gets the right hull on plane — all without fuel, fumes, or two-stroke noise. The built-in TorqLink interface lets the motor, Power 48-5000 battery, and TorqLink throttles share fast, accurate data without a separate gateway, with live readings available through the TorqView app.

The remote-steered (R) configuration ships with a standard remote-steering link arm and installs cleanly on boats with a console helm. A rugged aluminum pylon with fin, full corrosion protection, and an included anode set make it saltwater-ready for the long haul.

How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length

Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.

1. Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom to the bottom of the hull at the centerline.
2. Match it to the shaft option. The short shaft (24.6 in / 62.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 15 in (38 cm); the long shaft (29.7 in / 75.5 cm) suits transoms up to about 20 in (51 cm).
3. When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.
