ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo Electric Outboard Motor (3 HP, 1000 W)
Free shipping over $49
Lithium batteries & products containing lithium batteries are non returnable
The ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo is a 3 HP-equivalent (1000 W) electric outboard built for dinghies, tenders, day-sailers, and small fishing boats. It delivers quiet, fume-free propulsion with a genuinely premium feel — and adds hydrogeneration, so the motor can recharge its battery while you sail or tow. It is a clean, low-maintenance alternative to a small gas outboard.
Key Features
- 3 HP-class electric power — 1000 W of quiet, instant thrust for tenders, dinghies, and light sailboats.
- Hydrogeneration — recovers energy and recharges the battery while sailing or under tow.
- Bluetooth app + tiller readout — see battery level, speed, and remaining range in real time.
- Lightweight & portable — splits into manageable parts for easy carrying, mounting, and stowage.
- Modular controls — works with side-mount, top-mount, and dual-control options (sold separately).
- Battery: pairs with the ePropulsion Spirit Battery Plus (1276 Wh, sold separately).
Battery and control options are not included and are purchased separately.
How to Measure Your Transom Height & Choose Your Shaft Length
Picking the right shaft length is the single most important fitment decision on any outboard. It comes down to your boat's transom height — if the shaft is too short the propeller ventilates (sucks air) and loses thrust; too long and it adds unnecessary drag.
-
Measure your transom height. With the boat level, measure straight down from the top of the transom (where the motor clamps) to the bottom of the hull at the centerline.
-
Match it to the shaft length. As a general guide: a Short (S) shaft suits transoms up to about 15 in (38 cm); a Long (L) shaft suits transoms up to about 20 in (51 cm).
-
When you're between sizes, size up. A slightly long shaft runs fine; a too-short shaft will cavitate.
ePropulsion's own method adds the propeller radius (~5.5 in / 14 cm) and ~4 in (10 cm) of water-flow clearance to your transom height to get the total shaft length needed. Example: a 21 in transom + 5.5 + 4 ≈ 30.5 in, which points to the Long shaft (29.5 in).
| Shaft option | Total shaft length | Fits transom up to |
|---|---|---|
| Short (S) | 24.6 in (62.5 cm) | ~15 in (38 cm) |
| Long (L) | 29.5 in (75 cm) | ~20 in (51 cm) |
