Whether you're cruising in silence or powering through calm inlets, the ePropulsion Navy Series offers a modern, sustainable solution with class-leading technology and minimal maintenance.
Steps to Determine the Right Shaft Length
1. Measure Your Transom Height
The transom height is the vertical distance from the top of your boat's transom to the bottom of the hull. Use a measuring tape to obtain this measurement accurately.
2. Add the Propeller Radius
Consult your motor's user manual to find the radius of the propeller. For example, the Spirit 1.0 Evo has a propeller radius of approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm).
3. Add Clearance for Water Flow
Include an additional 4 inches (10 cm) to ensure proper water flow and prevent cavitation.
Calculation Example:
If your transom height is 21 inches:
-
Transom Height: 21 inches
-
Propeller Radius: 5.5 inches
-
Clearance: 4 inches
Total Required Shaft Length:
21 + 5.5 + 4 = 30.5 inches. In this case, a long shaft option (approximately 29.5 inches) would be suitable.
