A compact, Bluetooth-smart solar charge controller that wrings every usable watt out of your panels. The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/10–100/20 sits between your solar array and your battery, using ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking to convert panel voltage into the exact charge your battery wants — then manages that charge through a multi-stage adaptive algorithm to keep the bank healthy. Built-in Bluetooth means you set it up and watch it work from your phone, with no extra dongle.
This range covers the small-to-midsize end of the SmartSolar line in four models — 75/10, 75/15, 100/15, and 100/20 — spanning 10–20 A of charge current and 75 V or 100 V of PV input, with automatic 12/24 V operation (the 100/20 adds 48 V). Every model is UL 1741 and IEC 62109-1 certified, runs at up to 98% efficiency, and can be synchronised with other SmartSolar units as your array grows.
Who the SmartSolar MPPT 75/10–100/20 is built for
- Cruising boats and sailboats — the fast tracking shrugs off the partial shading from sails, rigging, and passing clouds that punishes lesser controllers, so you keep harvesting underway.
- RVs, vans, and overlanders — compact and vibration-tolerant, with Bluetooth setup that takes minutes and a load output to run lights or a fridge directly.
- Off-grid cabins and tiny homes — the BatteryLife algorithm protects a lead-acid or lithium bank through short winter days when a full recharge isn't always possible.
- DIYers and installers alike — a first-time builder gets guided setup through VictronConnect; a seasoned installer gets VE.Direct, GX integration, and full remote management on VRM.
Why this is the SmartSolar MPPT, not just another charge controller
Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
The SmartSolar MPPT recalculates the panel's optimal voltage/current point many times a second. In changing light — a clouded sky, shadows moving across a deck — that speed harvests up to 30% more energy than a PWM controller and up to 10% more than a slower MPPT. More of the sunlight that hits your panels ends up in your battery.
Built-in Bluetooth and the VictronConnect app
Bluetooth is built into every SmartSolar MPPT, so you configure charge profiles, check live solar yield, and view a 30-day history straight from the VictronConnect app on your phone or tablet — no separate dongle to buy. Firmware updates and custom alarms run from the same app.
Intelligent multi-stage charge algorithm
The SmartSolar MPPT automatically steps through bulk, absorption, and float, with a profile matched to your battery chemistry — lithium, AGM, gel, or flooded — using automatic voltage selection. It can even revive a fully discharged battery, and reconnect to a lithium battery whose internal protection has tripped.
BatteryLife battery management
When short days mean the controller can't fully recharge the bank, a lead-acid battery can get stuck cycling between partial charge and empty — which destroys it in weeks. The BatteryLife algorithm watches state of charge and nudges the load-disconnect level day by day until the battery reaches a near-full recharge about once a week, extending its life.
Intelligent load output
The 75 and 100/15 models include a load output you can wire devices to directly, with a configurable low-voltage disconnect (or BatteryLife management) so a load can't flatten your battery. The output is short-circuit proof. On the 100/20's 48 V mode the load terminal drives a relay rather than switching the load directly.
VE.Direct and full remote management
The VE.Direct port wires the SmartSolar MPPT into a GX device such as a Cerbo GX, putting your solar data on Victron's VRM portal — monitor yield, adjust settings, and get alerts from anywhere in the world.
SafetyShield+ protection and synchronised charging
Temperature-compensated charging, over-temperature protection, and safeguards against PV short circuits, reverse polarity, and reverse current are all built in. Add a Smart Battery Sense or BMV-712 and the controller reads true battery voltage and temperature over Bluetooth; run several SmartSolar units and they synchronise their charge stages over Bluetooth or a GX device.
Available models
All four share the same smarts — the difference is how much PV voltage and charge current they handle. Match the model to your panel string voltage and the charge current your battery bank can accept.
| Model | Max PV voltage | Charge current | System voltage | Max PV power (12V / 24V / 48V) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MPPT 75/10 | 75 V | 10 A | 12 / 24 V | 145 W / 290 W / – |
| MPPT 75/15 | 75 V | 15 A | 12 / 24 V | 220 W / 440 W / – |
| MPPT 100/15 | 100 V | 15 A | 12 / 24 V | 220 W / 440 W / – |
| MPPT 100/20 | 100 V | 20 A | 12 / 24 / 48 V | 290 W / 580 W / 1160 W |
Not sure which model fits your array? Use Victron's MPPT sizing calculator, or book a system consultation and our ABYC-certified Advisors will size it with you. For larger arrays, see the SmartSolar 100/30 & 100/50 and up.

Recommended accessories
- Cerbo GX — adds full remote monitoring and control via the VRM portal.
- VE.Direct cables — wire the controller to a GX device or VE.Direct accessory.
- A Smart Battery Sense or BMV-712 — feeds true battery voltage and temperature to the controller over Bluetooth for more accurate charging.
- Lithium & AGM batteries — pair the controller with the right bank for your system.
- VE.Direct non-inverting remote on/off cable — switch the charger from an external signal.
Installation and sizing help
Sizing an MPPT is about matching panel string voltage to the controller's PV window and the charge current to your battery bank. A couple of references that help:
- Victron MPPT sizing calculator — check a panel/controller combination.
- Victron Wiring Unlimited — the wiring and fusing reference.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate Bluetooth dongle?
No. Bluetooth is built into every SmartSolar MPPT — just open VictronConnect on your phone. (The dongle is only needed for the older BlueSolar models, which have no Bluetooth.)
SmartSolar or BlueSolar — what's the difference?
SmartSolar has Bluetooth built in; BlueSolar does not (it needs a VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle or a GX device to configure). The charging hardware is otherwise equivalent.
Which model do I need?
Pick by your panel array's open-circuit voltage (stay under 75 V or 100 V) and the charge current your battery can accept. Use the MPPT calculator above, or ask us — oversizing PV voltage is the most common mistake.
Can it charge lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?
Yes. There's a dedicated lithium profile, plus presets for AGM, gel, and flooded, and a fully custom option.
Can I run more than one?
Yes. Multiple SmartSolar MPPTs synchronise their charge stages over Bluetooth (VE.Smart Networking) or through a GX device on the VE.Direct port.
Can I power loads directly from the controller?
Yes — these models have a load output with low-voltage disconnect to protect the battery. On the 100/20 in 48 V mode the load output drives a relay rather than switching the load directly.
What warranty does it carry?
A 5-year limited Victron warranty, upgradable to 10 years for an additional 10% of the purchase price. We're an authorized Victron distributor, so your warranty is fully supported.
